Science: Forensic/Home Chemistry

This weeks blog for science is mostly about forensic but we are learning today so let me tell you guys, about some of the work we have done, my group for today was Ryan, Christian, Lasa & myself.

Aim: The aim today is to see what the water-based pens will do to our or with the paper and what we tried to do was to get a reasonable result it was basically a mystery to see what would happen,

Materials/Steps: Our materials were
Paper,
Water base pen,
Plastic cup,
1. we used the filter paper for the color to stream up to its destination
2. The pens were for the color first we had a little strip of filter paper
3. we put the little paper on the cup with the bottom part on the inside of the plastic cup,
4. Then we lined two dots 1cm from the bottom and then we filled it up with a little bit of water.

Conclusion: What I have learned from this lesson today was that I learned that some of the different colors go up faster and some go slower, & that water and a water-based pen make the color go up if there is a cm involved...

Home chemistry, Science

Home Chemistry: Introduction

Aim: To learn the names of 10 household

chemicals and identify if they are a solid, liquid or a gas.

Equipment:

1. Soap/Detergent Dish

2. Lemon juice

3. Salt

4. Vinegar

5. Sugar

6. Milk

7. Onion

8. Lemonade

9. Bleach

10. Baking Soda

Task 1: Put the 10 chemicals

in a chart with the titles - Name, Chemical ingredient(s), Image, Solid/Liquid/Gas

Conclusion: This was a great experience
Trying to find all of the Chems/Ingredient(s), I have
Learned a lot so far & trying to learn more throughout my
Sessions in science.

I AM MALALA: Predictions

I AM MALALA is a Book and this is a book that is true so it is a nonfiction novel so I and some of my reading group we have to read the book about Malala and to this point, I think it is well and my task for this book this week is to:
How do you think the book might end? Write down your predictions.

Dmic Maths

For this Dmic Maths lesson, we started to work on a new equation these Dmic maths problems was all about the neighborhood & only a quarter of 92 will get mowed & then we have to add up

The full equation is that: There are 92 houses on Rimutaka Avenue. 1/4 of them have asked me to mow their lawns once a week.
My mom has agreed for me to hire out our lawn mower for a rate of $2.50 per hour.
On average, it takes me half an hour to mow each lawn.

A tank of petrol costs me $12 and lasts for 6 hours.
If I charge $15 per hour, How much profit will I make in one week?

This what my group & I did or am still trying to put it in better maths, words or numbers we were working out how much is 1/4 92 & we estimated that it was 23 because we halved it.

This is all we did and what we tried to do last week but this week the problem might be a little bit easier.
