Hurumanu PE - Fosbury Flop/Long jump

Hi everyone, today for PE - Hurumanu we did some high jump, and there was one special way on how we did our jump and the launching technique, the special technique was the Fosbury Flop...

Today we learned how to do the Fosbury Flop...

There are a couple of steps to this when jumping over the bar...
Fosbury Flop/High jump...

Step 1:
When taking off it should be with one foot...

Step 2:
As your taking off and just before you take off you spin just a little to the opposite side to the bar so that when you are in the air you would have your back to the bar...

Step 3:
As your in the air, you'll need to or try to land on the mat with your legs and arms facing upwards ...

And we also did some long jump, for long jump, there are also a few steps...
Long Jump...

Step 1:

Run up is 21 steps...

Step 2:
Take off will be from the second marker...

Step 3:
The land will be measured from the back-foot...

Step 4:
Land with both feet together...

Step 5:
If you are over the second marker when you jump, it is a fowl jump...

First PE: Term 3

Aim: The aim of this task is to talk about or answer these questions and to see if we could be a Team player of the whole Team,

For this weeks lesson of the first PE harumanu, we are talking or answering these questions, We got the chance to assign different people in your team to have a role. Example, I am an Offensive coach, Brianna is our Manager, etc,
Our Questions are...

  1. What makes a Good Team Player? What skills and attributes do you need to Display/Use? Answer: For me Personally, What I think it is to be a Good team player is to have a good understanding of your fellow teammates and everyone in your team so that everyone you play with inside your team, You and them will know what to do with Teamwork, Collaborating with ideas & Communicating,
  2. What is my Role within your team? What does your Role Involve?                                  Answer: For My team, I think it takes a lot of responsibility to do one job to always help your team out or to take something as your own responsibility, for you to take on being a manager, Captain or a Coach/Trainer you do need the knowledge and burden on your back.
  3. How could I be a better team player? List 3 things to work on and how you can be successful at this?
  1. To be Good at Communication, Shouting out to your teammates to get the ball or to create options & space.
  2. Sharing the ball around to create more opportunities for other people or space,
  3. Skills, Having skills to do more passing, again sharing the ball around, to be more precise about skills, having pride in your game or being fit...
