FLIGHT

Aim: To learn about flight and aerodynamics.

  • In your groups of 3, you will make a paper plane and measure its distance and behavior.
  • In groups of 3, you will make a water rocket and record its distance and behavior.
Image result for flight forces

Definition: If an object is aerodynamics that means it is able to move through the air.

4 forces of flight:
  1. Thrust: Produces, Balances the Drag.
  2. Drag: makes the Weight slow down with them.
  3. Lift
  4. Gravity
Paper Plane:

Material: Piece of Paper

1. Paper
2. Paper clip
Steps:

  1. Fold Lengths
  2. Fold Again
  3. Fold Corners

Findings:

Plane Type
Distance
Behavior
Normal

5m
Straight line
Ailerons
3m
Swoops To Side
Paper clip
5m
Straight

Conclusion: I learned how Aerodynamics works and how Aerodynamics

can make a big impact on the object, paper airplane, you could just make

a few changes like cutting out a few squares would make a big difference

to the plane,

I have learned how our planes changed different directions with only a
few adjustments, our Normal plane with no adjustments flew in a straight line, 5M and our paper plane with Ailerons flew 3M in a Swoop to the side, Changing your plane just the slightest does make a diffrence,
