Aim: To learn about a saturated solution and how to make crystals
Definition of the solution:
A liquid mixture, when something is dissolved into a liquid (eg: sugar in water)
Definition of saturated:
Having or holding as much as can be absorbed of something (when no more sugar or borax can be dissolved into the water)
In groups of three, you will make three different types of crystals and compare the results.
Ratio; 3 Tablespoons Borax per 1/2 cup water
Materials
1) Shape pipes
2) Cups
3) Pegs
4) Steering stick
5) Sharpie
Process
Step 1: Shape pipe cleaners into a shape,
Step 2: Hang shape on a peg,
Step 3: Mate up borax solution,
Step 4: Label your cup,
Step 5: Take and put three teaspoons into the borax cup
Step 6: Steer the borax cup as soon as your teacher or when you feel might be the right time,
Sugar Crystals

Step 5: Take and put three teaspoons into the salt cup
Step 6: Pour half a cup of water into the salt cup & steer it,
Findings
Describe your crystals in the table below.
What crystals worked out best and why?:
Conclusion:
I and my group which was Aisa, Nature, Lasa, Ryan, and we did find out somethings, to begin with we found out how Sugar, Salt & Borax was made and how to make types of crystals with Sugar, Salt & Borax, Our exspirment worked best because I think what worked was because we might of steered it at the right time as we let it sit as the crystals grow?

After watching the videos as a class, explain how the following crystals are formed:
Type
|
Explanation
|
Salt
|
One way of forming salt crystals is by the ocean, We can get this unprepared salt from the salty ocean and burn it in these special type of different machines to cause the salt to be prepared and ready,
|
Sugar
|
You can make sugar by sugar canes so you can grow sugar canes to about 20ft and when you cut it at the bottom it is a surprisingly a fun fact but sugar can regrow if you cut it at the bottom, The cut sugar cane gets put into a ton of machines gets shredded apart and then evaporated so burnt and that makes sugar but there are other.
|
Snowflakes
|
Snowflakes can be formed by the rain & the temperature below Zero and the vapor being or going up to the sky and the perfect timing sortive with the rain, Wind temperature below 0 and the vapor being together at the same time,
